Boosie Badazz, also known as Lil Boosie, is an American rapper with a net worth of $2 million. He began his music career as part of the group Concentration Camp and later went solo. Some of his popular songs include "Zoom" with Yung Joc, "Wipe Me Down" with Foxx and Webbie, "Better Believe It" with Webbie and Young Jeezy, and "Show Da World" with Webbie featuring Kiara. He also featured in the song "Independent" with Lil Phat, which topped the US Rap chart.
Born on November 2, 1982, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, his real name is Torrence Hatch. Lil Boosie grew up in a very dangerous neighbourhood where even the police were afraid to go. Sadly, his dad was killed, leaving Boosie without a father. To cope with the violence and instability at home, Boosie started rapping at the young age of 14.
When Boosie got into rap, his cousin Young Bleed introduced him to rapper C-Loc. C-Loc became his mentor, and at just 14 years old, Boosie joined the 'Concentration Camp' group in 1996, making him the youngest member.
The group, including Young Bleed and C-Loc, had six other members. Boosie made his debut on C-Loc's fifth album, 'It's A Gamble,' in 2000. He also contributed to the group's third studio album, 'Camp III: Thug Brothas,' in the same year.
In 2007, Boosie and Webbie released 'Bad Azz Mixtapes Vol. 2.' Boosie also dropped 'Da Beginning Mixtape' in 2008 and '4th Of July Bash.'
In 2009, he released his second major album, 'Superbad: The Return of Boosie Bad Azz.' While in prison for drug possession in 2010, Boosie's compilation CD 'Unbreakable' with C-Loc was released.
By July 2017, Boosie ventured into acting, landing a role in the indie boxing film 'Glass Jaw,' where he plays the character of a street-smart underground fight club operator. He had prior acting experience in films like 'Gangsta Musik,' 'Last Dayz,' and 'Ghetto Stories: The Movie,' portraying a small-time drug dealer.
Boosie has eight children with six different women, three of whom are with his longtime girlfriend Walnita Decuir. Walnita faced legal trouble in 2010 when she was arrested for attempting to bring narcotics to Boosie while he was in jail.
In December 2020, Boosie announced his plan to sue Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg for $20 million, alleging that his ban from Instagram negatively affected his business opportunities, potentially causing him significant financial losses. Although he mentioned the lawsuit in an interview with VladTV, it was unclear at the time if he was genuinely serious about pursuing legal action.
On November 14, 2020, Boosie, celebrating his 38th birthday, was shot in the leg after attending a candlelight vigil for rapper MO3 in Dallas. Initially, there were concerns about possible amputation, but by November 22, Boosie confirmed that he was healing at home with no amputations needed.
